Why Have Venus Viva?
Venus Viva provides a non-surgical option for the effective treatment of many skin conditions, including those which are generally treatment-resistant. Venus Viva succeeds where many alternatives have failed, all in a delivery system that is quick and comfortable. Patients appreciate the gentle therapeutic process that provides immediate results with little to no downtime, and requires only one or a few short treatment sessions.
After treatment
Most patients resume normal activities very shortly after a Venus Viva treatment. After the session, it is recommended to wait 12 hours before using any skin product and 24 hours before using a mineral make-up on the treated area. Sun exposure should be avoided for the first 48 hours after a treatment. Before and after treatments, an SPF of 30 should be used daily to protect treated areas.
The Venus Viva treatment process has been approved by both the FDA and Health Canada health agencies. This is based on the evidence collected through numerous studies demonstrating the safety and efficacy of this treatment method. The medicinal application of radiofrequency therapeutics, in general, is a treatment class that has proven safe over time. In comparison to other types of skin resurfacing techniques that can cause the skin to become weepy and ooze, radiofrequency allows only minimal skin sensitization and a substantially quicker return to normal activities.
Are You A Candidate?
Venus Viva treatment is appropriate for all skin types and colors. It is safe and effective for both men and women of all ages. It can be used to effectively treat even tough-to-cure skin conditions such as acne scars, large pores, uneven texture, excess pigmentation, stretch marks, loose skin and wrinkles.
Venus Viva should not be used on hair-bearing areas such as eyebrows. It is also inappropriate for areas of the skin that are tattooed. Therefore, patients with permanent make-up should not receive Venus Viva treatments in these areas.
Most Venus Viva treatment plans are carried out over three to four sessions. There is generally a two week break between each treatment session. A short period of time lasting a few hours to a few days is required after each session before returning to normal activities. Patients should plan their time commitments according to these requirements in order to achieve the best results during a Venus Viva treatment program.
F.A.Q.
How long will the procedure last?
Each Venus Viva treatment session is completed in about 15 minutes. A full course of therapy can be achieved in a single session, however, most patients receive three or four treatment sessions in order to achieve maximal results.
What can I expect after the procedure?
A slight redness and warming of the skin occurs throughout a treatment session. For most people, this fades within a few hours after the session. For others with slightly more sensitive skin, the redness can linger and be accompanied by a discomfort similar to a sunburn for up to 36 hours. There should be a period of at least 12 hours between the end of a treatment session and the use of any skin care products. After 24 hours, mineral makeup can be applied to treated areas. Sun exposure should be avoided during the first 48 hours after a treatment session. Therefore, it is important to create a treatment schedule that will accommodate these after-treatment precautions.
When will I see results and are they permanent?
The effects of a Venus Viva treatment will be visible immediately after a treatment session and will last for years. It should be expected, however, that new skin concerns can arise with time and repeat sessions are advisable.
Are there risks?
Radiofrequency skin treatments are extremely low-risk procedures. There is no cutting or application of medications that can cause the most common types of concerns involved with most medical procedures. The most common unwanted effect is skin redness and sensitivity, however, these tend to pass quickly. There is a risk of slight skin discomfort for some patients during the procedure. This can be avoided by pretreating the target skin area with a topical analgesic.
How soon can I return to work?
Most patients resume normal activities within 24 hours of a Venus Viva treatment session. For patients who wish to apply skin treatments or cosmetics before arriving at the workplace, it is important to remember that this may delay a return to work until the following day. For those in outdoor professions, 48 hours may be required before being able to return to work.
